Compagnie Artichoke
Founded in 2011, Artichoke vzw aims to bring classical music to all audiences, with a particular focus on young people, through the creation of original musical theater and unusual concerts.
The Artichoke company aims to renew the experience of classical music and shake up the so-called "classical" forms in terms of venues, programs, and so on.
She pays particular attention to audience enjoyment, far from boring, traditional conventions.
It advocates openness and inclusion in classical music for the youngest members of society, as well as for people who don't naturally come to concerts.
She champions artistic excellence with exceptional musicians.
Finally, it produces original musical shows based on classical music, and already boasts an extensive catalog of shows for young audiences and dramaturgic concerts.
The Artichoke company is led by director/dramaturg and show designer Sophie van der Stegen. For each project, Sophie gathers artists and musicians who help her dig deep to find what the music evokes, and how to convey it to the audience, through story, scenography and so on.
