Promoting accessible, local, supportive and, above all, alternative culture in an unusual location - that's what Distorsion, an associative micro art gallery in the heart of Brussels, is all about.

Gil Tapia is a multi-faceted Belgian artist, born in 1993. At the age of 16, he entered an art school and went on to study graphic design at ESA le 75. Not being a fan of the school system, he left his studies to throw himself body and soul into art, music and continuing to learn on a self-taught basis. He makes music and the visual arts a veritable playground for experimentation. Co-creator of the music group Lago, which later metamorphosed into Perfect Blue, he continues to write, compose, paint and perform the worlds he depicts in his paintings. His universe is both dark and childlike, his painting both spontaneous and sophisticated. His aim is to sublimate the impact of the scars we carry within us, to sublimate the monstrous.
